Digital model of the cube.
Hybrid axonometric drawing with watercolor, prominently featuring cutaway.
Unrolled digital template for the final cube.
The final of the cubic projects, this assignment strayed from the precedents of existing modern artists and asked students to begin designing using drafting software. As a first foray into Rhinoceros 3D, this piece represents the simple geometries of folding and slicing in three-dimensional space. The final piece was fabricated out of sheet metal, which does not always adhere to the stringent design parameters set forth by computer software, due simply to its existence as a tangible building material.
